James Wood

B.A., Georgetown University
Ph.D., Boston University

Professor Wood hails from the deep South but has lived in Boston for 10 years. He has his doctorate in philosophy from BU and wrote his dissertation on Plato. He has written several articles and conference papers, mostly in ancient philosophy. Currently he is working on a translation of Plato's Philebus. In his spare time, besides reading and writing, he loves to eat fried food, watch Red Sox baseball, play pool, and hike. He is married to a health lawyer from Pittsburgh, but she is very forgiving of his weakness for bad food and good baseball.
