Professor Maureen Sullivan is an authority
on sex and gender relations in the United States, having published
The Family of Woman: Lesbian Mothers, Their Children, and
the the Undoing of Gender with the University of California
Press (2004). She holds a Ph.D in Sociology with emphasis in Social
Theory, Gender, and Family and Kinship from the University of
California at Davis. She also earned a master's degree in Public
Policy Studies and Women's Studies from Duke University. Before
that, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from the
University of Utah. Professor Sullivan is currently at work on
several writing projects, including projects on transgender phenomena
and global surveillance.
