Brian Jorgensen's areas of scholarly interest include ancient philosophy and Renaissance and modern poetry. He is a board member of the Center for the Advancement of Ethics and Character at Boston University's School of Education, and was the founding Director of the Core Curriculum. When not teaching, Prof. Jorgensen writes original songs for and performs in the Fish Worship blues band.
