Professor Cirulli hails from Foligno, Italy,
though he has spent the last twenty years of his life in the USA.
He is a specialist in 18th and 19th century German Philosophy.
In 2006, he published Hegel's
Critique of Essence (Routledge). His other main area of expertise
is Aesthetics, with a particular emphasis on the figurative arts
(painting and sculpture). He is currently doing research on the
philosophy of painting in Early German Romanticism. When he is
not engaged in teaching or research, you may find him on a soccer
field, pursuing that ever elusive goal: bending it like Beckham.
He is thrilled to report that his two-year old son has recently
substituted his teddy bear with a small soccer ball.
