Example 5: Example of a successful approval using Forward

To approve a bounced message, forward it to your list and add an "Approved:" line at the very top. Before sending, you may need to delete bits of extraneous information that your e-mail software may have inserted at the top of the message (for example, your automatic signature, if you have one, or any header lines that aren't part of the original message). Majordomo does not remove these automatically.

This is what you send:
Header:

To: my-list@bu.edu

Subject: Re: Bounced Message

Body:

Approved: PASSWORD    <-- you add this line
Date: Tue, 15 Apr 1997 09:17:48 -0500
From: "Somebody" <somebody@somewhere>
To: my-list@bu.edu
Subject: Test message

This is a test message to the my-list mailing list.
Please ignore this message...this is only a test.

Thanks.

When Majordomo receives your approval message, it will extract the original message and distribute it to your list. Your list's subscribers will never see your approval message, but will instead see the original message.

This is what Majordomo will pretend that it received:
Header:

Date: Tue, 15 Apr 1997 09:17:48 -0500
From: "Somebody" <somebody@somewhere>
To: my-list@bu.edu
Subject: Test message

Body:

This is a test message to the my-list mailing list.
Please ignore this message...this is only a test.

Thanks.
