Procedure to petition to waive enrollment in the Boston University Student Medical Insurance Plan after the Waiver deadline If you have extenuating circumstances that caused you to miss the deadline for waiving enrollment in the Boston University student medical insurance plan, you may petition to waive insurance after the deadline. Your waiver petition must include a detailed explanation of the reason for lateness with your completed Medical Insurance Waiver form. You cannot submit your petition to waive via the electronic (Student Link) medical insurance waiver form, but you may download the paper Medical Insurance Waiver Form from the Student Accounting Services website . The Medical Insurance Waiver and accompanying explanation may be mailed or faxed to Student Accounting Services. The street address and fax number for Student Accounting Services appears on the waiver form. Any Late Medical Insurance Waiver form that does not include a detailed explanation will be denied. All other Late Medical Insurance Waiver requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Students will have the opportunity to petition to waive insurance after the deadline only one semester during their academic career at Boston University. Additional petitions will not be considered.
