Speakers & Honorees
Michael E. Capuano, U.S. Representative from the Massachusetts Eighth Congressional District, delivered the 136th Commencement address. Rev. Dr. Gloria E. White-Hammond, pediatrician and co-pastor of Boston’s Bethel AME Church, spoke at the Baccalaureate service.
Also receiving honorary degrees were: J Allard, senior vice president at Microsoft Corporation; basketball great and president of basketball operations for the Indiana Pacers Larry J. Bird; BU Trustee Alan M. Leventhal, chair and CEO of Beacon Capital; and acclaimed filmmaker Steven Spielberg.
