Senior Breakfast This group of friends is having a good time during commencement

The 2009 Senior Breakfast was held on May 1, 2009. As is Boston University’s tradition, the names of the Commencement Speaker and honorary degree recipients were announced at breakfast. On May 17, Michael E. Capuano, U.S. Representative from the Massachusetts Eighth Congressional District, delivered the University’s 136th Commencement address. Rev. Dr. Gloria E. White-Hammond, pediatrician and co-pastor of Boston’s Bethel AME Church, gave the Baccalaureate address. Others who received honorary degrees during the All-University Commencement Exercises included: J Allard, senior vice president at Microsoft Corporation; basketball great and current president of basketball operations for the Indiana Pacers Larry J. Bird; University Trustee Alan M. Leventhal, chairman and chief executive officer of Beacon Capital; and Steven Spielberg, famed filmmaker and a principal owner of DreamWorks Studios.

This year’s senior class gift is a Boston University Class of 2009 desk clock. For those who were not able to attend breakfast, the gift can be picked up at Development & Alumni Relations, 595 Commonwealth Avenue, West Entrance, from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.
