The 2008 Senior Breakfast was held on May 2, 2008. As is Boston University's tradition, the names of the Commencement Speaker and honorary degree recipients were announced at breakfast. Larry Lucchino, president and CEO of the Boston Red Sox, will deliver the University's 135th Commencement address. William Hayling, physician and founder of a national minority mentoring program, will speak at the Baccalaureate Service. Others who will receive honorary degrees are: Earle Chiles, president of Earle Chiles and Affiliated Companies, philanthropist, and University Trustee Emeritus; tennis legend and women's rights advocate Billie Jean King; and Millard "Mickey" Drexler, chairman and CEO of J.Crew.
This year's senior class gift is a Boston University padfolio and insignia pen. For those who were not able to attend breakfast, the gift can be picked up in the Office of Dean of Students Office beginning on Monday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
