Dr. Lambert earned her doctorate from the University of Tennessee in the College of Communication and Information where her primary area was public relations and her secondary area was health communication. Her academic scholarship focuses on media representations and social constructions of public relations, health information, and communication occupations. She has published refereed journal articles about campus health messages and health care opinion leaders (Public Relations Journal and Health Marketing Quarterly) and book chapters about public information campaigns and participatory journalism (Public Relations Theory and Practice in the Nonprofit Sector and the Media Training Guidebook).
Dr. Lambert has presented scholarship about television representations of public relations and the corporate message strategies of Arthur W. Page at venues including the International Public Relations Research Conference, the International Communication Association and the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. Her professional experience includes seven years in corporate communications at a Fortune 100 company and five years of editorial experience at a national trade publication.
Dr. Lambert was named a 2014 Page Legacy Scholar to conduct research about ethical engagement with employee affinity groups, indicating that industry experience continues to inform her academic scholarship.
