A Summer with Simply Ming

Public relations majors are required to complete a 4-credit approved internship or 4-credits of fieldwork through PRLab. To be eligible for the internship course, students must have completed 96 academic credits prior to the start of the internship and must have a 3.0 grade point average in the College of Communication.
Students intern in public relations agencies or in corporate, non-profit or government public relations departments. During the fall and spring semesters, students are required to intern 15 hours per week for 12 weeks and either full-time for eight weeks or half-time for 12 weeks during the summer term.
COM public relations students have interned for hundreds of organizations throughout the world including Hill and Knowlton, IBM, Nike, Ketchum, Porter Novelli, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, The White House, Electric Artists, American Red Cross, and Weber Shandwick Worldwide.
