The Television Program: Facilities

In the Television area, we have two modern and recently upgraded broadcast studios: One news-specific studio with a news desk and teleprompters and one larger general production studio. Both studios include Mole-Richardson lighting fixtures, Sony 3-chip studios cameras, ECHOlab switching and distribution equipment and Panasonic decks.

We have a total of 18 post-production and editing suites that included nine linear stations and nine digital stations. The digital stations are using Apple G5 CPUs running a mix of Avid Xpress Pro and Final Cut Pro 4, Adobe After-Effects and Adobe Photoshop. Each digital suite has a DVCAM/DVSP firewire deck for tape output as well as DVD recorders with Toast software for optical masters.

Our Audio lab consists of 4 ProTools stations, each with the capability to output to either CD or MD.

Two graphic stations with industry-standard image manipulation tools and still-store and DV output complement the facility.

Our location equipment includes 16 Sony small-form ENG cameras and 18 Sony P-150 DV cameras. Lowell field lighting kits and Audio-Technica/Scinnheiser audio gear are the standard field camera accompaniment.
