Billyburg Short Film Festival

The Billyburg Short Film Festival is a competitive film and video festival, and a celebration of a diverse collection of short filmmakers. It is founded on the principle of expanding the independent film market through the short film, a stepping-stone for all independent filmmakers. The BSFF is also dedicated to enriching the Williamsburg film community, a convergence of up and coming artists and filmmakers, by gathering prominent industry members to a core Williamsburg event. Early every summer, the BSFF showcases talented filmmakers, artists and musicians to an audience of peers and industry leaders to enhance the spirit of independent film. http://www.rabbitinaturtleshell.com

Filmmakers Workshop

Filmmakers Workshop offers Boston area independent media artists a non-competitive, supportive community to strengthen their work. The screenings and workshops (held on the third Wednesday of each month) enhance the quality of projects produced from the pitch to the completed work by offering filmmakers informal professional development opportunities, constructive feedback, and a chance to network with their peers.

Filmmakers Workshop has openings to screen rough cuts at our March and April workshops. If would would like feedback on your film from a supportive group of your peers in the beautiful Bernard Toale Gallery, submit your film project today. All genres welcome.

Submissions Needed - Naked Eye College Film Festival

The New England Institute of Art and the Provincetown Film Festival are sponsoring the Naked Eye College Film Festival. It is an exciting project that we hope will catch on and become a regular fixture on the schedules of aspiring student filmmakers every year. The festival will be held at the Coolidge Corner Theatre in Brookline, Massachusetts for three nights. It will be linked to the Provincetown International Film Festival where students will be exposed to an even larger audience.

It is a juried festival with student entries competing in five categories. The top contenders and winners will have a single screening at the Coolidge on April 25. On April 26, there will be a special screening featuring the winners of the NextFrame Film Festival from Temple University in Philadelphia. The final evening, April 27, we will screen the runners up of the Naked Eye Festival. All the top entries will be sent to Provincetown for its college category.

This is an opportunity for students to meet one another, network, see the quality of other student work and have a chance for their video/films to appear at a higher profile festival.

If you know - or are - a student film/video maker, we'd love your short piece.

Go to Naked Eye Film Festival.

The Ivy Film Festival submission deadlines are fast approaching! Student films must be postmarked by Feb 1st or Feb 15th (late deadline). Students can find submission materials at our website: www.IvyFilmFestival.com.
