Application Deferred

If your Boston University College of Communication application was deferred for Fall 2011 or Fall 2012, please follow these instructions.

Admission for Fall 2013 is not automatic. Your file must be reviewed by the admission committee. If you wish to re-apply, you must re-submit the online application AND send a letter to Graduate Services. We must RECEIVE both by February 1, 2013. The letter should include what you have been doing since you last applied and include any new contact information (including email). You must also send any additional/new requirements. Please see the Frequently Asked Questions page on our website to view all application items.

You may update other materials in your application file, but we must also receive them by February 1.

If you are an international student, you must retake the TOEFL (if that is your required test – please check the FAQs for instructions) and re-submit the International Student Video. The GRE is required of all applicants as well.

Please note: the GRE is REQUIRED of all applicants, including international students.


Application Incomplete

You must re-submit the online application and complete all current requirements and let us know that you have previously applied to our school. We only keep files for the past two cycles (Fall 2011 and Fall 2012).


Application Rejected

You must re-submit the online application and complete all current requirements and significantly improve your application. We only keep files for the past two cycles (Fall 2011 and Fall 2012).
