Launch Your Venture
You’ll start with your idea and build it out over the course of the program—complete with pitch, prototype, and business and marketing plans. Media Ventures faculty, COM alumni and biz-savvy mentors will work with you one-on-one, coaching you through the process. Through two internships, you’ll gain crucial real-world experience and a network of industry contacts. Media Ventures will give you the know-how, skills and confidence to launch the next phase of your career.
One Year, Two Coasts
The MS in Media Ventures is a 12-month, three-semester, bi-coastal program that combines the strengths of the BU College of Communication and the BU Los Angeles program. Students spend the fall in Boston, where they take classes and start developing their innovative venture concept and honing their pitch. Spring and summer semesters are spent at BU Los Angeles, where students complete two internships at startups and traditional media companies while continuing coursework. Finally, you finish up by pitching your own media venture to a panel of the pros.
We’re also offering a dual degree MBA/MS in Media Ventures in partnership with Boston University Graduate School of Management. This is a two-year, five-semester option where students pursue an MBA before joining the Master’s in Media Ventures.
