Edward J. Downes
Associate Professor, Public Relations
Edward J. Downes spent 10 years working for communications programs throughout metropolitan Washington, D.C. He held positions as a research associate, campaign organizer, special events producer and performer, promotions manager, editor, writer, marketing representative and public relations director. He serves as a speaker and workshop presenter, and is actively involved in researching and writing conference and journal articles. He’s written widely on the topic of political press secretaries and, at present, is focusing on the area of nonprofit public relations. Dr. Downes was the 1995 College of Communication Lyndon Baines Johnson “Faculty Advisor of the Year.”
