This presentation will focus on developing and testing health behavior interventions that are theory based, co-designed with the target population, and focused on motivating change, particularly among those who are not ready to change. The talk will be followed by a discussion of how health psychologists and communications scholars approach health behavior change paradigms in similar and different ways, and points for synergy and interdisciplinary collaboration. Dr. Borrelli is Professor of Health Policy & Health Services Research, and Director of Behavioral Science Research at Boston University, Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. She is also Visiting Professor at The University of Manchester, United Kingdom.
