Andrea L. Taylor, former director, North America Citizenship & Public Affairs, Microsoft Corporation, is a civic leader focused on education, media and philanthropy as the president and CEO of the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute.

A native Bostonian, she began her career as a reporter for The Boston Globe, was a producer and on-air host for WGBH-TV, and later directed the Ford Foundation's global media program, investing in independent production and distribution about a range of contemporary issues. At the Ford Foundation, she oversaw the global distribution of $50 million in grants.

Taylor is also a trustee of her alma mater, Boston University, New York Public Radio, the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy and The Historymakers.
