WTBU nominated for national college radio award

With your help, Boston University’s WTBU radio station could be named the best college radio station in the country.

WTBU is one of 10 stations nominated for the College Radio Woodie in mtvU’s Woodie Awards, which annually recognize top college radio stations as well as up-and-coming artists popular with college students.

Votes for “the beat of Boston University” can be cast online through March 6. The Woodie Awards will air as a 30-minute special on MTV and mtvU on Sunday, March 16 at 8 p.m. Eastern.

This isn’t WTBU’s first bout of national recognition. College Music Journal named WTBU the College Radio Station of the Year for the last two consecutive years.

WTBU is a student-run, volunteer radio station broadcasting live 20 hours a day. The broadcasts are available online, on 89.3 FM/640 AM, and BU’s cable channel 6 (if you’re on campus), as well as through mobile apps on iPhone and Android.
