*SPRING 2014 OPENINGS*
Prof. Mina Tsay-Vogel (email@example.com) needs graduate teaching assistants (10-20 hours/week) for CM 380 (Theory and Process of Communication) in SPRING 2014. Duties include attending classes (TR 12:30-2:00), grading and meeting with students. Preferences will be given to students who have taken the graduate communication theory course or at least an undergraduate theory course. Please contact her if interested.
Prof. Safoura Rafeizadeh (firstname.lastname@example.org) needs a GA for this Spring, for 10 hours per week. The student should have an interest and knowledge of design and the Adobe suite to assist with handouts, and with out of class help to design and editorial design students. FALL 2013 OPENINGS
THE COMMENT, COM’s graduate student magazine, is looking for a student editor to help generate story ideas, assist with layout/design, edit content, and help to manage the workshop (Wednesdays 3:00-4:45 p.m.) The editor will receive a stipend of $1500/semester. BU NATIONAL RESEARCH AND TRAINING CENTER FOR ARTHRITIS (ENACT – HOUSED AT SARGENT COLLEGE) seeks a communication intern to assist with several initiatives, including 1.) preparing for a State of the Science Conference, which will be held in Washington, DC on April 7, 2014; 2.) refining and promoting a podcast series on active living with arthritis; 3.) assisting in the preparation of newsletters for a large national audience; and 4.) managing our social media and website. Applicants should have strong writing ability, solid graphic design skills and experience with Word Press. The work schedule is flexible. Professor Nick Mills needs a student with knowledge of photography to perform picture research for two books, one on a retrospective history of the Vietnam War and the other on the Medal of Honor. The work will involve finding appropriate pictures to support the text, through Web searches and other databases, and determining reproduction fees. Approximately 10-15 hours per week. Professor Anne Donohue firstname.lastname@example.org is seeking a grad assistant (up to 20 hours/week) who is familiar with audio recording (TASCAM), audio editing (Adobe Audition and Audacity), and WordPress. Familiarity with LIVE radio and running an on air studio board helpful. Interest in international news, global health and development a plus, but not required.
Professor Peter Southwick is looking for a graduate assistant for the fall 2013 term to assist in teaching basic photography classes and help with photo program projects. THE FILM AND TELEVISION DEPARTMENT has the following opportunities available:
Professor Cathy Perron email@example.com needs two TA/GAs (10 hours/week) for the fall for Media Ventures. One should be highly skilled in social media—someone who can strategize as well as post to FB, Twitter, LinkedIn. Student will work with professors and students in the MV program to help market the program through social media platforms. The other student should be a third semester Film or Television production student. I need someone who is skilled in production—a self-starter who can write and produce videos to market the program. Professor Perron also needs someone from the research program who can work with her this summer/fall to identify all of Media Ventures competitive grad programs at other universities, their curriculum, length of program, cost, how they market, which key words identify them in searches, etc. This is a short term position. Can be done in 4 weeks.
THE MASS COMMUNICATION DEPARTMENT has the following opportunities available:

Responsibilities will include support for media/interactive in-class elements, graphic design support, coaching student groups on projects, and PR writing guidance. This is an exciting opportunity to get an inside look at our prestigious student-run PR agency and drive engaging activities and discussions in the classroom. Professor Patrice Oppliger email@example.com is seeking teaching assistants (10 or 20 hours/week) for a 150 student section of Communication Theory and Processes (CM 380). Duties for teaching assistants include grading and meeting with students. An additional assistantship is available to assist in incorporating technology to make the class more interactive (e.g., clicker software or Twitter). Preference will be given to students who have taken an undergraduate communication theory course.
Professor Edward Boches firstname.lastname@example.org needs a grad assistant (10 hours/week) with creative skills (conceptual and art direction) to help with art direction and design assistance for CM 417 and 423; Portfolio execution assistance for CM 423; “Cool-Hunter” to find, catalog and deconstruct noteworthy creative executions across all media, emphasis on emerging, digital and mobile.
Professor Pegeen Ryan (email@example.com) needs a grad assistant (10 hours/week) whose focus is creative (art direction preferred, but copywriting considered) to assist in finding examples of creative executions across all media, with emphasis on emerging, digital and mobile. Experience with a program like Keynote, InDesign (to help put together presentations) is a plus.
FitRec has the following opportunity available:
FitRec Marketing Communications Intern will assist will all aspects of marketing communication at FitRec including but not limited to: social media contribution, research, newsletter writing, calendar postings, broadcast emails, collateral printing and distribution, and dissemination of promotional materials around campus and the community. Position will manage sponsorship fulfillment for national and local sponsors. Position will also create and manage photos and video.
Excellent written and interpersonal skills required. Experience with video and photography (including editing) desirable. Must be able to work independently. Requires at least 3 years work experience with PR, advertising, or marketing. This position is typically filled by a senior or grad student. 10-20 hours per week. Hourly rate based on experience.
