The Society for Classical Studies 2018 Annual Meeting in Boston

Over the winter break, while we were all trying to keep warm, scholars flocked from throughout the US and the world to attend the joint meeting of the Society of Classical Studies and the Archaeological Institute of America meeting in Boston. Here are some photos from the well-attended party thrown by BU at that event! The party included an exhibition of ‘Pioneers of Classics’ (featuring photographs from last year’s ‘Portraits of Black Classicists: from Slaves to Scholars’, with some additional exhibits). We were also treated to a surprise performance of portions of Euripides’ ‘Helen’, sung by undergraduate students at the University of Vermont, with music accompaniment by Professor John Franklin. If you were able to make it to the event, we hope that you had a wonderful time.
