Program-Related Resources

Most of our City Planning and Urban Affairs faculty are practicing professionals, and students are encouraged to consult with them regarding professional and academic matters or to seek advice on job and internship opportunities. In addition, the officers of the City Planning and Urban Affairs student association (the Urban Planning Association) are also available for Peer Advising. Prospective students should feel free to consult with the Student Association as they consider applying to or accepting admission to the program. Feel free to contact them at upa@bu.edu.

Financial Resources

Students in the City Planning and Urban Affairs programs are eligible to apply for Graduate Assistantships. Generally, one to two assistantships are available per semester, with awards ranging from $2,000 to $4,000, depending on the hours of commitment. Selections for graduate assistants are made based on merit, financial need, and student qualifications. Please contact the department for further information.

Apart from Graduate Assistantships available via the department, the Metropolitan College Graduate Financial Aid office also offers comprehensive financial aid services to graduate students. They assist students in financing their education through Assistantships, the Federal Stafford Loan, or the Graduate Plus Loan.
