Jennifer M. Raitt

B.A. Summa cum Laude with Interdisciplinary Honors/ Commonwealth Scholar, University of Massachusetts Amherst (Urban Planning and Documentary Studies), M.S. The New School (LaGuardia Fellow in Nonprofit Management)

Ms. Raitt works in the fields of housing, community development, and planning for municipal, nonprofit and regional Boards and organizations. She specializes in comprehensive, neighborhood, and housing plan development, neighborhood revitalization techniques, and organizational planning and development. She presents on topics such as Adaptive Reuse, Green Affordable Housing, Arts, Culture, and Economic Development, and Creating Mixed-Income Communities. 

As Chief Housing Planner for the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, she provides direct housing and planning technical assistance to municipalities, engages in regional and statewide housing policy initiatives, and coordinates 20 urban communities in the Inner Core.


Co-Chair, National Planning Conference 2011 Local Host Committee; Chair, American Planning Association Housing and Community Development Division; Board Member, Citizens' Housing and Planning Association; Board Member, Massachusetts Chapter APA Board of Directors.


City of Salem, Massachusetts Citation for Dedicated Service to Affordable Housing Trust Fund Board of Trustees (2009, MA Chapter APA Outstanding Planning Project Award (2004), MA Governor's Award for Smart Growth Leadership and Implementation (2004)and U.S. Conference of Mayors CDBG Best Practices Citation (1999). Her work has been published in New England Watershed and Revitalization Magazine.
