Lauren Wolf (5th year graduate student in the Georgiadis Group) accepted a ChemLuminary Award at the August 2005 national meeting of the American Chemical Society (ACS) in Washington, DC. The Northeastern Section Younger Chemists Committee (NSYCC) was given the competitive “Most Creative Local Section Younger Chemists Committee Event Award” for the Career Fair they organized in 2004 when Lauren was Chair. The highly successful event consisted of resume writing and interviewing workshops, as well as a job fair attended by local companies. Students made many beneficial contacts through the Fair, and several attendees received interviews/job offers as a result of the event.
