Corey Stephenson Joins Department of Chemistry Faculty

Professor Stephenson is a synthetic organic chemist. He received Ph.D. in 2005 from the University of Pittsburgh working under the direction of Professor Peter Wipf. His doctoral research focused on cascade reactions involving alkenylzirconocenes and peptide mimetics. He was a post-doctoral fellow in the group of Professor Erick Carreira at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, Switzerland, from 2005-2007 where he was involved in the areas of asymmetric catalysis and natural product synthesis. Corey’s research interests include complex molecule synthesis and the development of new synthetic methodologies for the rapid generation or molecular complexity from readily available building blocks.
