Mr. Robert Lucchesi
Robert Lucchesi is pursuing a BFA in Theatre Arts in the College of Fine Arts and a Religion minor in the College of Arts and Sciences. He hails from San Francisco, California and, comes from the Catholic tradition. He has been involved in OUTLook, Marsh Chapel’s LGBTQ Ministry and Spirituality group, since freshman year and is excited to be taking more of a leadership position in the organization this year. He spent this summer working at BU’s Community Service Center as a Coordinator of the Elders issue area for the First Year Student Outreach Project (FYSOP) which introduces beginning first-year students to BU and the city of Boston through a week of volunteering and team-building.
In the College of Fine Arts, Robert has dabbled in playwriting, acting, design, and is now focusing his studies on collaboration/devised theatre and directing. He is looking forward to pursuing a Masters of Divinity, hopefully with a dual degree in Social Work. His interest in religious studies lies in where theology, art, and queer theory intersect, and he enjoys talking with people about the variety of experiences queer people have in the Church. Robert hopes to work at a college or high school campus as a campus minister and counselor.
In his free time, he plays the piano, flute, and clarinet, spends way too much time and money at thrift stores, and enjoys exploring Boston through walking. He also has an encyclopedic knowledge of public transportation and is positively smitten with the MBTA. He will also be spending his Spring semester in Madrid, Spain immersing himself in the art, architecture, and language of the Spanish people. He also won top honors at the “2011-2012 Mr. and Ms. Boston University Pageant” held by the Programming Council, so can say, in all seriousness, that he is Mr. BU.
