Kara is a first year member of the Boston University Opera Institute, where she recently performed the title role in Ravel's L'enfant et les Sortilèges. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Arizona where she performed the roles of Chérubino in Le Nozze di Figaro and Meg in Little Women. She was the alto soloist for the Arizona Choir's St. Matthew Passion and the Tucson Masterworks Chorale's St. John Passion. She made her professional debut as Lady-In-Waiting in Macbeth and Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly with Arizona Opera. She was a Studio Artist for Central City Opera for their 2007 season. Upcoming performances include Second Lady in The Magic Flute and Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia with the Boston University Opera Institute as well as A Girl's Voice in West Side Story and Second Lady in Dido and Aeneas with Central City Opera. Ms. Harris is a two-time winner of the Arizona district of the Metropolitan National Council Auditions in 2005 and 2006, as well as a Western Regional Finalist receiving the Special Encouragement Award in 2006.
