Our study opportunities are available as a context for thinking about our life together, and the life of the world, in light of the biblical witness, our religious traditions, theological insight, and one another's experience. Books are provided for all of our study groups.

On the Origin of Species

Sex and the SoulRecent survey data suggests that one in three U.S. citizens find themselves caught in the tension between religion and science. In the fall of 2009, the bicentennial of the birth of Charles Darwin and the sesquicentennial of the publication of his landmark On the Origin of Species, we will read this text elaborating the theory of evolution by means of natural selection and consider its implication for religious belief and the life of faith.

War and Religion

Religion has often been implicated in the fomenting of war and violence. In this study, we will read selections about the involvement of religion both inspiring violent conflict and in advocating its cessation.
