Buddhists

Boston University has several Buddhist groups which offer meditation, study, and other forms of Buddhist practice. During the academic year there is a weekly meeting on Thursday evenings from 7:30 pm – 9 pm in the Thurman room at Marsh Chapel. In the recent past the meeting is sponsored by the Boston University Buddhist Association, a non-denominational student organization that meets for discussion, study, and meditation. On a regular basis the Buddhist Chaplain, Rev. Dokurô Jaeckel, joins the meditation meetings, offers a talk, gives instruction, or answers questions. For the most current list of all Buddhist groups, please call the Student Activities Office at 617-353-3635.

Rev. Kyoon Dokuro, Osho is a Zen priest in the Rinzai-ji Zen tradition, which was brought to the United States by Roshi Kyozan Joshu Sasaki. Dokuro has been involved with Buddhism since 1982, has been an ordained monk since 1989. Dokuro also teaches at the Cambridge Buddhist Association (75 Sparks Street, Cambridge, Ma 02138) and is abbot of Hôun-an, Dharma Cloud Hermitage. Please contact Dokuro at dokuro@bu.edu with any questions.
