Signs of Hope in United Methodism
For those interested, this is a preview of Rev. Dr. Robert Allan...
Marsh Chapel hosts a retreat employing the practices of VocationCARE as developed by the Fund for Theological Education to help Boston University students discern the next steps in their life trajectory. Whether you are a first-year undergraduate trying to decide on a major, or deciding whether to switch majors, or a senior trying to figure out what you are going to do after college, or a graduate or professional student trying to discern how you are going to put your finely tuned skills and abilities to use, this retreat is for you!
The retreat program engages the thought and writings of the Rev. Dr. Howard Thurman, former Dean of Marsh Chapel, educator, theologian, poet, civil rights leader, and mentor to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Aspects of the program include individual reflection, guided meditation, storytelling, group reflection, and creative expression. There will also be time for snow tubing, broomball, and making s’mores by the fire.
The retreat will take place at Sargent Camp in Hancock, NH from February 24-26, 2012. We will have dinner at Marsh Chapel at 5PM on Friday, February 24 and then take a bus to the retreat center. We will return in the early afternoon on Sunday, February 26.
Cost for the retreat, including meals, activities, and lodging at Sargent Camp, is $100.00. You can pay by cash or check in the Chapel office. Online payment is forthcoming soon.
