The Rev. Soren M. Hessler serves as Chapel Associate for Leadership Development and has been a member of the Marsh Chapel staff since 2009.  He is passionate about equipping the next generation’s leaders for service in the church and the community.  At Marsh Chapel, Soren is responsible for providing administrative leadership and oversight to several aspects of undergraduate ministry.  Together with Chapel Associate for Vocational Discernment the Rev. Jen Quigley, Soren co-supervises the undergraduate internship program for students exploring ministry.  Soren and Jen also co-celebrate the 7-minute Common Ground Communion liturgy on Thursdays at 12:20pm on Marsh Plaza during the academic year.

Soren is an ordained elder in full connection in the West Ohio Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church appointed to extension ministry here at Marsh Chapel.  He also serves as Associate Director for Administration of the Betty Ann Greenbaum Miller Center for Interreligious Learning and Leadership at Hebrew College. Soren is a PhD candidate in practical theology, concentrating in leadership and administration at Boston University School of Theology.  His doctoral research focuses on the history and practice of accreditation in theological education. Soren and Jen were married at Marsh Chapel by Dean Robert Allan Hill in 2009.
