Jaira was born and raised in Singapore by his Malaysian-Tamil mother and Singaporean-Chinese father. As an undergraduate studying and worshiping in the U.S. for the first time, he realized that following Jesus was a lot more complex, radical, nourishing, and liberating than he had thought possible. He loves inviting people to join that journey, though he’s not very sure where he’s going. He also wonders what exactly the four years he’s spent in the U.S. have to do with his home, so naturally, he’s decided to spend another three at Boston University pursuing a Master of Divinity. He is excited to have new company on the journey as a Ministry Assistant in the Global Ministry Department, where you will probably find him in the kitchen.
