CGS SS 200 Credit Application

  • Please fill out the SS 200 Internship Credit Application Form to receive credit for an internship. The Internship Application is also available in Student Services, Room 211. This form should be completed before beginning the internship.
  • When finished completing the form, print and bring the form to the CGS Student Services Office, 871 Commonwealth Ave, Room 211, to be processed.
  • The College of General Studies offers students the opportunity to receive one credit for internships that require academic credit. Students will be billed for the credit, if applicable. (As always, if a CGS student does not have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or above and is registered for over 18 credits, s/he will be billed for the overload credit.)
  • Credit will appear as course “CGS SS 200: Internship” on student transcripts. CGS SS 200 DOES NOT fulfill a degree requirement at Boston University and DOES NOT count toward graduation.
  • CGS SS 200 is graded on a pass/fail basis, and does not affect GPA. A passing grade is assigned once the internship is complete. Student must submit the Internship Supervisor Verification Form (ISVF) to CGS Student Services, Room 211. The ISVF is attached to the Internship Application.
  • If students are unable to complete the internship, they may petition Dean Stacy Godnick to withdraw from the CGS SS 200: Internship course with a ‘W’ on his/her transcript. If the ISVF is not submitted within one year of the designated internship completion, a grade of ‘F’ will be posted on the transcript.
  • Please set up an appointment with your CGS academic advisor for any questions about this process.
