April CGS Open House for Admitted Students


Spring Open House 2014


Congratulations on your admission to Boston University.  The Boston University College of General Studies (CGS) invites you and your family to attend one of our Spring Open House programs for the Class of 2018.

Please join us on Friday, April 4, 11, or on Saturday, April 19 at the College of General Studies, 871 Commonwealth Avenue, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Students admitted to the January Program in Boston and London are invited to attend an Open House on Saturday, April 12 or Friday, April 18 at the College of General Studies, 871 Commonwealth Avenue, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Check-in begins at 8:30 am in the CGS lobby!

The Dean’s Welcome will begin at 9 am sharp!

Program Highlights

The College of General Studies

“Different Schools of Thought Start Here”

Dean Natalie McKnight and division chairs will introduce you to the College’s unique curriculum and approach to teaching and learning.

Team Interdisciplinary Talks

College of General Studies professors will demonstrate their interdisciplinary teaching techniques.

College orientation and open forum

Current and former students from the College of General Studies will discuss their experiences, including the transition to other schools and colleges of the University.

Open Campus

You will have a chance to explore the Boston University campus, visit a student residence in West Campus, the Fitness and Recreation Center, and the general Boston University campus.


Enjoy lunch and conversation with our faculty, students, and staff in the impressive West Campus dining room for a taste of college life.

Financial Assistance

Representatives  from the Financial Assistance office will be available to answer your questions during the open house.


Directions & Accommodations

We are located  in the center of the Charles River Campus at 871 Commonwealth Ave.

If you are driving, parking is available in parking lots A or F.

Lot A is next to the Agganis Arena and Lot F is next to 808 Commonwealth Ave.
