CGS Holds Annual Stone “Lecture”

Who says each installment of a lecture series needs to be, in fact, a lecture? In lieu of a distinguished speaker, the planning committee for the 2011 Stanley P. Stone Distinguished Lecture scheduled a visit for CGS students and faculty to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts’ newly opened “Art of the Americas” wing. The March 23 outing complemented the current CGS syllabus in rhetoric and the humanities.

Stan Stone (CGS’64, SMG’66) attended, accompanied by friend Sharna Striar (SON’68), CGS Dean Linda Wells, and Humanities Division Chair Natalie McKnight. The CGS group was able to spend time with Erica Hirshler (GRS’83, ’92), Croll Senior Curator of Paintings at the museum.
