Priority Medicines for Europe and the World
The European Commission recommended that the WHO update its 2004 “Priority Medicines” report. The updated report should be published in 2014 for the 10th anniversary of its original publication, and will identify those pharmaceutical research needs that are relevant for countries in economic transition (including several new EU members) and, if possible, also for developing countries. In addition, it will identify the needs regarding better delivery mechanisms/formulations of existing preventive and therapeutic medicines.
