The CGHD works in various areas of pharmaceutical policy, including assisting in implementing the UNITAID Patent Pool Initiative (Geneva) for fixed-dose combination ARVs and helping the World Health Organization/Health Action International investigate and provide recommendations for pro-generic medicine policies in low- and middle-income countries. The CGHD also provides technical assistance on transparency in pharmaceuticals. This includes strategies related to good governance in pharmaceuticals procurement, financing, and distribution. The CGHD also runs the Pharmaceutical Assessment, Management & Policy (PAMP) Program which is available to Boston University Master of Public Health students.
