Handbook on Popular Spiritual Movements in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia

The Handbook on Popular Spiritual Movements (PSM) in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia is a research project and publication owned by Trinity Theological College (TTC), Singapore, under the leadership of Dr. Michael Poon, Director of the Centre for the Study of Christianity in Asia (CSCA). Boston University, through the Center for Global Christianity and Mission, is a supportive partner through the participation of Dr. Charles Farhadian (BU alum) as a co-editor, Dr. Dana Robert as a consulting editor, and the Revs. Septemmy Lakawa (ThD, 2011), Daryl Ireland (PhD student), and David Scott (PhD, 2013) as contributors to section III:  Case Studies of Popular Spiritual Movements.

On August 3-6, 2010, Trinity Theological College held its second workshop on the project. By bringing together a small group of theologians, mission scholars, and ethno-musicologists from Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Taiwan, and USA, ideas could be exchanged, the Handbook outline confirmed, and chapter assignments made.  That writing process is well underway. The completed work will be published in 2014.
