Summer Art Program for High School Students

Program Dates: July 5 - July 31, 2009

Apply online or print and complete the Application Form and mail it with the following items to:

Visual Arts Summer Institute
Boston University College of Fine Arts

Boston, MA 02215

Include with the application the following:

  • $65 application fee, made payable to Boston University.
  • A slide or CD portfolio including one self-portrait drawing (from observation) and five other examples of drawings, paintings, or sculptures. If submitting a CD, also include print-outs of the images as a backup.
  • A brief one-page essay that addresses the following topics:
    • Why do you want to participate in the Visual Arts Summer Institute? What are you looking for in a summer program?
    • Describe your arts interests and experiences. Who or what has influenced your art?
  • One letter of recommendation, which may either accompany the application or be sent directly to the Visual Arts Summer Institute. The recommendation should be from someone who has supervised you in art-related activities or in other academic work.

We cannot evaluate your application until we have received all of these items.
