Nick Edmonds studied at the Ogunquit School of Painting and Sculpture from 1953 to 1956, and received a diploma with honors from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in 1961. From 1962 to 1965 he taught at the SMFA and Milton Academy. He was offered a professorship at Boston University in 1965.
His awards include a Saint Gaudens Fellowship, a 1977 Massachusetts Council for the Arts and Humanities grant, a Fullbright grant for study in Japan, and the Blanche E. Colman Award, among others. He has exhibited widely throughout the US and internationally, and his work is in many private and public collections including the National Academy of Design, Icicles Sculpture, New York, NY; New Britain Museum of American Art, New Britain, CT; Naples Museum of Art, Naples, FL; Miaoli National Woodcarving Museum, Miaoli County, Taiwan; Wiggen Gallery, Boston Public Library, Boston, MA; Saint Anselm College, Manchester, NH; and State University of New York, College at Cortland, NY.
