RaniiEmily Ranii teaches for Boston University CFA School of Theatre and School of Music Opera Institute and is the Academic Program Head of the Boston University Summer Theatre Institute (BUSTI). She has taught courses in Acting, Directing, Theatre Ensemble, Movement, and Dramatic Literature. BU directing credits include: God’s Ear, The Maids, Arcadia, The Imaginary Invalid, Mary’s Wedding, Anne Boleyn, and Tongue of a Bird. She will delve into Tongue of a Bird a second time in a production for New Repertory Theatre in 2014. Emily served as Artistic Director of ArtsCenter Stage in Carrboro, North Carolina, and has directed for Playmakers Repertory Company PRC2, Burning Coal Theatre Company (Company Member), Cornell University (Alumni Guest Director), and Temple Theatre. She has studied with theatre artists at The Metropolitan Opera, Lincoln Center’s LCT3, Huntington Theatre Company, A.R.T. Institute, and The Actors’ Gang. Emily holds a B.A. from Cornell University (Theatre Arts and English) as well as an M.F.A. (Directing) and Certificate (Arts Administration) from Boston University.
