Scene Shop Supervisor
John received his Bachelor's degree in theatrical design from Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, VA. After graduation, he spent two years as a technical staff supervisor for the Busch Gardens 'live' entertainment division. He relocated to Boston and worked as a fabricator for Mystic Scenic Studios, where he built installations for corporate clients including Disney, Universal Studios, and Joseph A Banks. He spent two years as the scene shop supervisor and later technical director for the Brandeis University Theatre Department. He is a graduate of the Wentworth Institute of Technology welding and metal technology certificate program as well as a graduate of the North Bennett Street School where he studied 18th Century cabinet and furniture-making. He holds numerous state certifications in hazardous materials control, building construction, emergency medicine and fall protection.
