Lecturer (Sound Design)
MFA, Boston University. Regional theatre credits include designs for the Huntington Theatre, including The Glass Menagerie, Cabaret Verboten, Gross Indecency, Cookin' at the Cookery, and What the Butler Saw. Other League of Resident Theatres (LORT) credits include designing Mrs. Sedgewick's Head at Trinity Repertory Theatre, and, at Merrimack Repertory Theatre, Quartet, The Pavilion, and Short Haired Grace, as well as Woman in Black subsequently re-mounted at Capital Repertory Theatre in Albany, New York. In Boston's Small Theatre Community, Ben has designed sound for productions by the Sugan Theatre Company, Speakeasy Theatre, the Gloucester Stage Company, CentaStage, and others. As staff Sound Designer at the Williams Center for the Arts at Lafayette College, Ben designed sound for productions of Macbeth, Temptation, Camino Real, The Adding Machine, The Colored Museum, and others. Ben produced a self-guided tour for the museum at the Old State House, and was commissioned by the Cambridge Arts Council to create an installation piece on the Harvard Footbridge for Cambridge Riverfest in June 2007. Ben has been teaching and building the Sound Design curriculum at BU since 1996.
