Clarinet Workshop

June 20 - July 3, 2010

College of Fine Arts | School of Music

Ages 14 - 20

Ethan Sloane, eminent soloist, recording artist, and teacher, directs the Clarinet Workshop. In a collaborative yet challenging atmosphere, participants explore clarinet techniques, repertoire, and musical styles.

A typical week includes up to 20 hours of classes and coaching. Morning and afternoon sessions will address a broad range of topics related to clarinet performance: tone production, articulation, intonation, reed adjustment, practice techniques, recital/audition preparation, and other specific technical and musical issues. Professor Sloane may be joined by guest artists for master classes on specific topics. The workshop will conclude with a solo and clarinet ensemble recital.
