Audition Repertory for Harp

BM

Applicants should prepare original solo works, appropriate transcriptions, and etudes or studies. Auditions are to be performed without accompaniment.  Applicants should consider works demonstrating cantilena style (slow tempo, legato melodic lines, sustained phrasing, singing tone quality), and technical facility (fast tempo, variety in rhythm, correct phrasing, tone quality, clean articulation, etc.)

Two solo works should be presented, one transcription and one original work; additionally, one etude should be prepared. Literature chosen is to be left to the discretion of the applicant.

MM & Performance Diploma

Applicants must be prepared to perform three compositions, one from the Baroque or Classical periods, one from the Romantic period, and one from the Contemporary period. The candidate may also offer orchestral excerpts.

DMA & Artist Diploma

Applicants should prepare material equivalent to a master’s-level recital program
