The School of Music provides a piano accompanist for string auditions in Boston.  Applicants must bring a bound piano score (not single-page photo copies) to the audition.

BM

Applicants should prepare at least two solo works, one from memory.  We suggest movements of solo Bach and of a standard concerto or sonata.  Each applicant also should be prepared to play an étude or study and three-octave scales and arpeggios.  Sight-reading may be requested in the audition.

MM & Performance Diploma

Applicants should prepare movements from: an unaccompanied Bach suite,  a standard concerto, and a standard sonata with piano (preferably from a different style period).  We strongly suggest memorization for the Bach and the concerto.

DMA & Artist Diploma

Applicants should prepare a complete Bach suite, a complete standard concerto, and a standard sonata with piano (preferably from a different style period).  We strongly suggest memorization for the Bach and the concerto.
