Regional Auditions
Regional auditions are attended and videotaped by School of Music and Tanglewood Institute Admissions staff members. Faculty members will adjudicate the auditions from Boston.
Students who live more than 300 miles from one of our audition locations are
welcome to submit a self-prepared
recorded audition, in accordance with
our guidelines.
Applicants to Masters and Doctoral programs are strongly encouraged to attend the Boston Auditions.
Some programs have specific audition location requirements:
- Percussionists may not audition at a regional location. They may submit a recording or audition in Boston.
- Applicants to Historical Performance programs may audition live in Boston or by recorded audition. No regional auditions will be accepted.
- Applicants to Collaborative Piano programs must audition live in Boston. No recordings or regional auditions will be accepted.
