The program focuses on the practical aspects of musical training: private instruction, musicianship skills, performance, and participation in musical organizations and chamber ensembles. The Artist Diploma Committee designs individual programs to meet the needs of each student.
Artist Diploma students are required to spend two years in residence at Boston University pursuing private instruction in their performance field during each semester of enrollment. A minimum of three recitals, or the equivalent, are required while in residence.
