Ian Greitzer

Ian Greitzer serves as Principal Clarinetist of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, the Rhode Island Philharmonic, the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston, and the Boston Classical Orchestra.  He also performs frequently with the Boston Symphony Orchestra.  Mr. Greitzer holds both a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory and is a former member of Boston Musica Viva, the Dinosaur Annex Music Ensemble, and the Boston Conservatory Chamber Players.  Ian Greitzer has appeared in concert at the Blossom Festival, the Rockport Chamber Music Festival, Ravinia, Wolf Trap, the Newport Music Festival, the Tanglewood Music Festival, and Monadnock Music.  He has performed at the Library of Congress, Carnegie Hall, and the Edinburgh Festival and has performed with the Blair, Manhattan, Lydian, and Vermeer String Quartets.  Mr. Greitzer was a founding member of the New England Woodwind Quintet, the Zephyr Wind Quintet, the Arada Trio, and the Extension Works New Music Ensemble.  He is currently a faculty member at Rhode Island College and the Boston University College of Fine Arts.  Ian Greitzer has recorded for South German Radio, Philips, CRI, Koch International, Northeastern Records, Nu Classix, New World, and Newport Classics.
