Boston University Alumni Exhibition
The exhibition offers a glimpse into the diverse work of these alumni, seen through the lens of their shared artistic roots. A tribute to both their artistic success and tenacity as working artists, it also honors the faculty who mentored the artists through their BU years. Featured artists all have emerged from the BU MFA program within the past two decades.
MONTEVERDI, VESPERS OF 1610

Boston Baroque, the acclaimed historical performance ensemble in residence at Boston University, will perform the Monteverdi Vespers of 1610, celebrating the 400th anniversary of one of the most moving and monumental works in the history of music.
ANTIGONE
A one-act opera
Based on Sophocles’ play, featuring an original libretto and music composed by former BU faculty member Marjorie Merryman. Antigone faces the deaths of her two brothers, who have killed each other in battle. Creon, the new ruler of Thebes, refuses to give Polyneices a proper burial. Antigone resolves to bury him in secret, and tragedy ensues. William Lumpkin, music director; and Jim Petosa, stage director.
DIVENTARE
a New Play Initiative
Written by Jenny Rachel Weiner (CFA ’09) and directed by Ellie Heyman. When Linda's life fractures, she escapes to an imaginary underwater kingdom. As a hurricane once again approaches, Linda must choose to retreat further or face the storm. The School of Theatre’s official 2010 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival entry.

As part of the Boston University School of Theatre’s annual Performance Showcase, performance majors will present individual monologues & scenes for an audience of producers, casting directors, agents, & alumni. These performances serve as a celebration of the accomplishments of the senior class, & the group’s formal introduction to the professional theatre industry.

Exhibit & Showcase
The work of students graduating from the School of Theatre’s design and production program will be showcased in the second annual Design and Production Exhibit. This show, hosted by nationally-acclaimed scenic designer and BU faculty member James Noone, will include representative work from this season's theatre and opera productions, as well as individual BFA and MFA student work. The exhibition will be held in conjunction with the Performance Showcase at New World Stages.
